Ok so iv had honey since she was 9 weeks and she is now almost 8 months old. Just like when i wanted honey i did months of research and thinking on this in advance as well as getting things gradually so i would be ready. Im thinking about getting this new bunny in the summer so i have plenty of time to spend bonding them with no school distractions. The problem is this, honey is a free range bunny and goes everywhere in the apartment  now and i would have the other bunny be the same ( i have the room and just hated putting her in a cage, still feel bad when i put her on time out too lol) im not sure if i should let honey have the living room/kitchen/dining room and the new bunny be in my room with the attached bath or what.

i also go home too where honey stays in my bedroom only since the stairs r slippery and i would be worried. Icould maybe have the other bunny penned on the main level but my parents have an 18year old cat and i dont want to have the bunny be afraid ( she doesnt do anything but eat and sleep literally and is mostly in the basement on her throne, she is curious about honey but when honey sees her she runs and the cat is very confused)  i plan on doing the bunny dating and everything to make sure they really like each other so the bond has a good start and goes fast since most stories that involve the dating seem to average on 5 to 10 days ish .

any advice on how i should do this or set it up would be great.

First I think it is awesome that you are going to do speed dating, that will definitely help with all of this. As far as the set up goes at your place there are a few ways you could do it, but you want to make sure they are together so that they are always working on their relationship. By this I mean separate pens next to each other. I used to have a free-range bunny that I then bonded with a new bun, and it was hard on all of us when we had to lock her up, but it is only for a short time. Eventually the tantrums stop and your bunnies will start to focus on each other for attention and entertainment.

As far as at your parents’ place goes, that is a little tricky. See if there is another bedroom to use if your bedroom is too small and set it up like you would at your place. If not, ask your parents if they have any suggestions for where to do this. You may even have to ask a friend for temporary housing for the buns so as to avoid any potential problems with the cat. You can get rabbits and cats to get along, but you don’t need that on top of bonding your buns. On a funny side note, bunnies usually dominate cats.

I would check out these resources on bonding for more details

          Good luck!
