So as some of you may know I recently lost my house bunny, Atlas. Its been weird in the house without him and I missed him dearly but I am going to be purchasing a new rabbit in late February. Yesterday one of my friends dragged me to a small animal auction because she was hoping to buy some ducks and geese. There were of course many rabbits there, but  I did not go look at them, I was just accompanying my friend. But after a while I realized one guy was buying all the rabbits. I spoke with other patrons and the man does this regularly they said and has well over 100 of them.. So when the last rabbit came up for auction I decided to bid on it even I had not even looked at it just to keep one from going to him. I won it for $25 and was given a cardboard box and told he was four months old and purebred english angora, and used to being in a 28×28 wire hutch in a barn when I asked about where he lived before. He seems to be settling in very well inside and loves his toys, which I am sure are his first. His fur is a bit matted so I know I am going to have to groom him soon but I want him to settle a bit more before I try since I have no clue how much grooming he has had in his life. I will post pictures soon, my boyfriend and I decided to name him Dumbledore.

Aww! That is the basic reason my hubby won’t let me anywhere near an animal auction. Glad to hear that little Dumbledore was lucky enough to find a loving home. We look forward to seeing pictures of your new baby boy!

Cottontail, yeah I will not be going to an auction again, it was rather depressing but I am happy I went to this one because Dumbledore is an awesome little guy! He already is settling in wonderfully, my cat grooms him which is the cutest thing ever since they both are fluffy and nearly the same color.

                    Congrats on your new bun!

I can’t help but wonder why the guy was buying all the bunnies. Hope he was just rescuing them.
