So we have had Sage since August. He has been doing so good using the litter box for 4 months. Now with Christmas being over, we cleaned and rearranged the living room. Now his and Nutmegs cage is moved to another spot and he started to use the bathroom in the opposite side of his litter box. I scooped up and placed the poop and pee and put it in the box. Should I keep doing this or move the box to the other corner?

You could certainly try moving the box/adding a second box,but he also is probably getting to the age where he’s going to need to be neutered to help those potty habits. When you move boxes, they do sometimes continue to potty in the old area, so instead of getting him used to a second box, you may just want to try moving it. Again, though, it could be hormones making him less agreeable. Obviously, it’s coinciding with moving the box, and my guy doesn’t like his place rearranged, so let us know if he goes back to it.

Also, it doesn’t look like either one is neutered and I’d say you’re getting into dangerous territory not getting that little boy fixed. You sound like an “oops litter” waiting to happen. Maybe you could get him an appointment soon? Or separate them, as males can still be fertile for a month after the surgery.

Their not in the same cage. And they’re not allowed out at same time. He will be getting fixed in 2 months when we have the money.

His litter box is in the same area, we just moved the cage to the opposite side of the room.

Tincture of time is what I like to fall back on. Keep cleaning the area and end w/ vinegar and water if you aren’t already, where he goes on the floor. He will probably figure it out again soon

I would try moving the box. Bunnies like to pick their area. It’s normal for him to want to mark his territory now that you’ve rearranged things.

I ended up moving his box to the other side of the cage. He is going in it again.
