Hey everyone! Hope you had a fab Christmas! Our buns got delicious new hay tubes to munch on while we were at my parents for the day. Happy buns indeed

RetroSquid and I will be introducing a new addition to our ever increasing family soon…. well, at the end of June anyway Yup, we have a human baby on the way! It’s so exciting but terrifying…. mostly terrifying at the moment. We had our first scan last week, it looks a little potato-like just now…. but I’m sure it will grow out of that.

Any advice on how to get our buns ready for a loud baby??? Our girls do not like loud noises and I’m worried how they will cope.

This is the push we need to finally get Link and the girls bonded, it’s not been a priority lately due to our busy work schedules but we need to extra space now.

Congrats to all 5 of you! This is so exciting!

I wouldn’t worry too much about the noises. Newborn baby cries aren’t super loud, they kindof grow into the loud cries! The buns should have plenty of time to get used to the new noises and smells.

You’ll definitely have to keep us posted on the bonding progress — I’ll be paying especially close attention and following your lead in bonding my pair and single bun in as stress-free manner as possible.

            Again, CONGRATS!!!

My daughter arrived in Scotland yesterday (not sure exactly where? I should have taken more notice when she was telling me but her travel plans are so extensive it all didn’t sink in, ha ha!) so keep your eye out for her, lol!

Again – wonderful news Ouisie, super happy!!!

Congrats to you two! Like JR said the bunnies will get use to the sounds and smells of a baby over time.

                        Big Congrats to you both!!!!!!

I was very concerned about how my bunnies would handle the noise of a new baby as well. My buns live in a room that has no door and is just off the living room. When we brought the baby home, we spent a lot of time (long nights!!!) in the living room and she did a lot of crying. I was very stressed out about how the rabbits were coping with it. At first they seemed pretty stressed, especially Olivia and I considered moving them to another area where I could close a door when needed. But after a few weeks, they got used to the noise. I think it’s just important to reassure your bunnies. I’m sure they will get used to it just like mine did.

Sorry it’s taken so long to reply!!! We’ve been so busy over Christmas, finally get a wee break now I’m back at work haha

Thanks for all your wellwishes, we are super excited.

We’ve re-started the bonding process between the girls and Link now, taking it very slowly as he’s a biter. Just bought a couple of x pens to put them in for a couple of hours a day so they spend time in each others company and share a space without having to be constantly watched. Navi and Daisy will go in one and Link in the other, with the pens side by side. That coupled with the bonding sessions should hopefully yield good results and Link will realise he is a rabbit and not a cat!

So, we had a couple of pens arrive this afternoon, and I have set about assembling them in the livingroom on a rug.

                              They’re small, but only temporary.

So, for a couple of hours a night, we’ll be locking our poor buns up while they get used to each other, but Link can’t quite reach to bite noses.

Hopefully, this will show Link that he doesn’t need to be a little turd, he IS a rabbit, and other rabbits are fine to be around!

Hopefully once he comes to terms with being a rabbit he’ll realize he’s getting two hot bunny ladies all to himself!

When we tried bonding our three, Moshi was just fine with that concept, but I don’t think my girls like the idea of sharing one guy!

WHen Link was bonded with Navi previously, he was number two. Navi has a very dominant personality.
And now she’s with Daisy, she’s boss again.

I think the problem will be with Link and Daisy… Although, I get the feeling Daisy will still be number two.

He’s not stressed at all about being a couple of inches away from them. In fact, they’re all relaxed and sitting. Navi and Daisy are loafed, nose to nose, and Link is flopped.

                                    No stress, no anxiety.

                                    Ha, thanks muchly!
                                    It’s so damn exciting!
