I went to let Jude (my 5 month old holland lop) out of my room today because he hasn’t been out of my room in about a week because of all the decorating for Christmas and my house being so busy…he went to go down the hall as usual towards my kitchen and living room and wouldn’t go past the laundry room which is in the hall..he kept standing up and looking around and sniffing and wouldn’t go past it. Could he just not like the smell of the tree? The smell of a real Christmas tree is quite strong but at first I was worried because he loves exploring and running around my house but this time he was only out for a few seconds then back in my room he went. Plus I usually can’t get him back in my room after he roams.. is it just that he doesn’t like the smell?

It’s been my experience that bunnies actually like to chew/eat pine branches, so I wouldn’t think that should deter him, but sure does sound like he’s checking something out that bothers him, doesn’t it? Just be sure you don’t have any chemicals in the tree water because he will drink it.

I’ve tried letting him out every day since we put it up and he won’t even go near the room that the tree is in..it’s an all natural tree that we got from a flower and plant (farm) shop that was actually growing them. No chemicals or anything like that and we just water it with water from our sink..but he won’t even go remotely near it

Really? I’m surprised. Funny what they get in their heads, isn’t it?
