Soo ik the basic cage size is 2′ by 4′, but this is honestly the biggest cage I can give to my future bunny :c Another alternertive however is those nic grids but living in Australia I can’t seem to find any! Does anyone know where I can get cheap ones? The bunny is a holland lop btw.

        Link for the cage:

I would look at an exercise pen – it’s usually in the dog section of the pet stores. That is too small for even a small rabbit in my opinion.

The floor of our condo is just a cheap area rug. We have some fleece blankets too (Pumpkin’s not a chewer) but I don’t know if you necessarily need anything else.

thanks ! for c&c grids what do you use to attach them. I was thinking cable ties but won’t they like “move” or “swing” around idk how to describe it, but basically it won’t stay straight and the joints will move.

Yup, cable ties. You just zip them as tight as they go and cut off the excess. Also, the C&C grids come with connectors. You use those and the cable ties for extra support.

Criss-cross the zip ties at every corner (except for the door). I know people do sometimes, but I wouldn’t use the plastic connectors that come with the grids. The plastic can crack. I got the criss-cross thing from a video online.

C&C and NIC (Nice Idea Cubes) are hard to find brand names, but many many companies make similar things. The ones I got for Porky are the stores own brand. Just do a search for “wire storage cubes” or something similar but more Aussie sounding, and something should come up. You can also check around in houseware stores.

The zip ties work fine for hinges. We use 1/2 inch binder clips as locks and slats dropped into L brackets to hold the doors (two center grids full height double doors) closed against the levels. Because Kieko will tug on the bottom level of the doors, we also added a bungee there.

I don’t know if this link will work, but there’s a pic of Kieko’s condo on this thread:

For Gus’ door I make sure to overlap the wires by a couple of inches and clip them together with one of those latches like on the end of a leash (about $1.39). I clip it on the lower of the two grids for extra insurance against escape.

Eepster – I always wondered what NIC stood for. BTW you’re my hero. No more of those nasty ads!
