So, i need to find a better way to get the buns water. Because Frankie drinks as if it’s his last drop of water ever. Or to stock up in case he gets a chance to pee on the couch. Or my computer. Or our blankets.

So Frankie is a total love-bunny, but he’s also a real troublemaker. He’s like Leave it to Beaver. If there’s a way to destroy something, he will. He knocks his litter pan down the ramp to the next level. He spills his food everywhere (that was when they got free-feed pellets. His poops weren’t so good so now they’re on limited pellet rations … they’re still young, so I thought they might need them, but he just got fat with a lot of extra cecotropes).

And water. Bottles are so hard to find that don’t drip. We have one really good one, but it’s pretty small (the big ones all seem to drip). So we have to refill it like 3x a day. And he keeps head-butting it, so it falls out sometimes. Then I have a big metal water bowl, which I figured he wouldn’t be able to turn over. (Yes, he intentionally flips every bowl. Every. bowl. Sigh.) Well, that’s mostly true, but he does jump in it, sit in it, sometimes flip it when he’s really really determined.

Now, normally I don’t mind getting them more water throughout the day, but when we’re on a trip and my mom’s watching them, or when I’m gone for a long day, I don’t want them to be without. Especially Angie-Hoppra, poor girl, so perfect (except for her taste for cords), and saddled with this adorable troublemaker.

Does anyone have a method of delivering water that 1) holds a lot; 2) can’t be spilled/knocked over/sat in; 3) can’t be knocked off/down/away from the cage?

        I’d appreciate any thoughts!

Sigh. Here’s the little troublemaker. Man, if he weren’t so sweet, licking me and kissing me all over and snuggling every chance he gets, he’d be in a world of trouble, he would.

Our large water bottles drip a little, so we hung them at the litter boxes so any drips get soaked up by litter. You could also try a gravity water bowl. If you get one with a big enough water reservoir he shouldn’t be able to knock it over, but could still step/sit in it and throw things in it.

What a sweetheart! His expression in that first picture is exactly the way my troublemaker, Sebastian, looks at me – total insolence.  Like, “Yeah, I’m going to pee on your couch.  What are you going to do about it??”.

I use one of those gravity things that JackRabbit mentioned.  It’s a plastic water bottle mounted upside down on a bowl.  It’s great.  I got it mainly because our dog insists on drinking the bunnies’ water and so I got tired of refilling the bowl multiple times a day, but it also came in handy when we went away for vacation.  It was one less thing for my mom to worry about doing when she came over to look after the bunnies.  I’m not sure what size it is but probably about 3L.

Here’s a random picture of one from the web:

Thank you JackRabbit and Sialia! I’m trying that … I went onto Amazon and ordered one (1 gallon!). Reviewers said their cats couldn’t knock it over … but Frankie, he’s really talented … we’ll see!
