So while online looking for a new hutch for my bun (the one she’s now in is getting to small), I came across this one of a converted chest, and thought it looked perfect (I’ll add a photo of it in here…somewhere…). However I would make some changes to it. The front of the box would have two doors made of mesh which would swing outwards, and the floor/walls would be covered in lino or tiles to prevent any water or wee seeping into the wood. Would this be alright to house my bun in? (It’s only for when I’m out and at night time.)

Well, I guess my vote would be something bigger but check the dimensions. I’m not sure that would meet the recommended size. We tend to really like x-pens and nic cube enclosures. I agree that pen looks cool, but I’m not sure it’s worth the effort. Sorry to be a downer. I don’t know the recommended pen sizes off the top of my head, but they should be pretty easy to Google and check a good site like HRS. I think a litter box is going to take up a lot of space with little room for much else. Looks good for those babies, but not sure about a bigger bun. Again, I would check the dimensions for starters.

Oops Just saw your other post about being in NZ. Sorry. No help here about that, but now I see why you’re looking at alternatives. Don’t they have x-pen type pens there? Good luck in your search. Sorry I don’t have more ideas.

It does seem a little small now thay I look at it, if I can find something similar but taller I think I might attempt it using different levels. But for now I guess I’ll keep looking for something bigger! Thanks for your help and your suggestions!

levels are a great idea. They do enjoy those.
