Where do your buns go when you’re not around? Stay in their hutch? Free roam a room? In an outdoor enclosure? Share your ideas, thoughts and photos!

My two boys (Sebastian and JoJo) have the run of the kitchen/dining room when we’re not home. When we’re home, they have free roam of most of the rest of the house.

We’ve got French doors at one end of kitchen and a wooden baby gate at the other end, so when we’re not home and overnight, we just close those up. They’ve got their main living area in there (litter boxes, water, hay, favourite sleeping spots, etc.) so they spend a lot of their time in there anyway.

Delilah pretty much has free roam of the house 24/7. At first I would shut her in her hutch if I left, but she was pretty upset about that one… So then I let her have free roam of the kitchen and dining room, but she found a way out of the gate we had that would fit there… so now, she is allowed free roam of the house minus the bedrooms (if we are in there, she can come in, but shes not allowed in there while no one is in there as theres just too much stuff I worry about her getting in to). I either keep the doors shut if Im gone, or if Im home I put a baby gate up that she has yet to figure out how to get out of.

Yohio is free roam in bedroom + hallway, Bam in living-room. Yohio is often found on the bed or under a foot-stool when I come back. Bam is most often under the coffea-table. Kitchen is blocked off due to too many electrical cords. It’s blocked off when I’m home as well, because a bunny can sever a cord in a split sec.

Edit: Guess what I found just now when I went into the living room? Bam lounging on his new IKEA bed! Wish I’d had my phone ready  so I could show you =)

I have a huge x-pen for Bramble when we are out, at first I was a little worried he would shake it so much it would fall down but he has been fine so far and we have had it for about 6 months. I hope to one day be able to leave Bramble to free roam but he just cant be trusted at the moment, he is immune to bunny proofing I am sure.

Bam, you bought one of those beds?! Awesome!

Pumpkin is in her condo made of NIC cubes when we are work and sleeping. She has free roam of the living room and hallway when we are home. She can go in our bedroom if we’re in there too. She could go in the dining room and kitchen if she wasn’t afraid of the flooring.

                  Here’s a picture of her condo…it’s huge!

I’m jealous of Pumpkins condo! I wish I could build something like that for my bun, but NIC cubes aren’t available in my country :c I’d love to let my bun free roam, but she’s proven how quick she can chew through cables, and her ability to jump onto the table and eat important documents. She used to stay in a pen, but she learnt how to open its door! Now I have to lock her in the cage when I’m out :c

bam!!! How can you tell us that and not have a photo??? I’m almost distraught!

Henry is free roam, along with our dog’s – when we leave the house we leave Henry in charge! I’m sure he throws a huge party and trashes the house, but when we get home, nothing seems to be out of place, so I don’t mind. Ha ha ha ha……
I have no idea what anyone gets up to while we are away? I’d love to know though??? Lol! Or is it better that I don’t know??? Mmmmm……..
