I took my Stella in yesterday to be spayed, and the vet called later to tell me that she had passed away.  I’m so sad.  Stella was only 6mos old, and we loved her greatly.  I am going in to talk to vet in a few hours.  They tell me that they think that Stella may have had a clotting disorder, because she lots a lot of blood, but not enough to kill her.  After they were done, but before she woke up, she went in to respiratory distress and had a cardiac arrest.

I wouldn’t have ever taken her if I thought this would happen.  I was trying to do what was best for her, and yet she died anyway.

        I hate this.

So sorry about Stella. Sometimes there are underlying conditions that we have no way of knowing about. You did what you thought was best for her to prevent something with a very high very real risk. I would have done the same thing.

                Hugs to you.

                Binky free Stella……

I’m so sorry you lost her… This is heartbreaking. Sometimes (thankfully rarely) surgery isn’t successful. I’m sure the vet did everything in his power, but if there is an underlying condition, this was out of his control. The important thing is that she was loved by you in her short life.

                          Binky free baby…

I’m so very, very sorry. She was lucky to have such a caring person. Spaying is the best thing for a bunny, so you were doing what was best. May she remain always in your heart.
