I’m always looking for new toys for Nimmy to play with cause otherwise he’ll chew on my clothes . And while I was in Petsmart I wandered over to the bird section and looked at the toys. I think he’d like the ones that you hang from the top of the cage because he likes pulling and pushing things. Has anyone gotten any bird toys or recommend a toy that I can hang from the top of the cage?

I’ve gotten one a couple months back that he destroyed within a week, it was a bit more on the expensive side so I don’t want to buy one of those (it was intended for rabbits). I think the bird toys will be stronger and more durable but wanted an opinion on them first.

I also doubt he’ll like ones with bells on them, but anyone a slave to a bunny that enjoys that kind of thing?

On Kaytee products there is sometimes a plastic rod through the middle of a treat. Once the rabbit eats the treat they love to throw that piece of plastic around.
I have not seen this on the rabbit treats for a while but it is still on the bird treats. It does not seem like bird treats would hurt a rabbit.

Bird toys are fine as long as they don’t have seeds, etc. Most bird toys are made with corn husk, raffia, wood, sisal, etc. so they are great for bunnies. My bunnies do like bells, but I imagine they could frighten some bunnies.
Here is an example of a safe bird toy.

I thought the dye’s they use on the wooden toys were unsafe for rabbits. I have heard of people using Baby toys, but the plastic makes me a bit leery. My rabbit likes to chew and I’m worried about him ingesting it.

Baby toys that are made from very hard plastic are okay. Olivia has a little toy phone and Bindi has a cow rattle. Toys made for teething are not okay because they are too soft. Has to be the rock hard plastic.

Olivia has a bird toy in her condo. It’s a little heart shaped mirror with bells on it.

I have a baby chain toy that I am thinking of giving DaBunnah. Something similar to this except it isn’t magnetized or have the binkies. http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NzE5WDg0N…880000500F
