        Moshu has been chewing the paint of the walls since the past few days. She never did this earlier. My dad is saying something could be wrong with her tummy. Is that true or a myth ? What could be the reason ?

          Sometimes rabbits just have to chew – it has nothing to do with their tummy.

            I noticed that my Pete will scrape his teeth on the wall or furniture if he has something stuck in his teeth… If rubbing his teeth on the wall or furniture doesn’t work he’ll move on to picking his teeth with his back foot.

                @Cottontail : Pete is a funny guy ^__^

                @Sarita : I discussed the same with the vet she said she could try de-worming for it. After reading what you said and a few more forum posts online, I think its just their biting instinct and maybe, it must be her growing incisors making her do that.

                  @LBJ10 : My sister was a compulsive cement eater as a kid. She had the same opinion about it xD

                    Maybe Moshu is just bored? Do you have any willow or toys?

                      Cement? Is she still alive and well? That’s a new one! And wall paper is even tastier than paint. Sounds like your dad is patient and concerned. I like to hear that

                        I think Avantika meant glue paste.

                            @LLH : She has a wood toy (fiddle sticks) and she chews it often. I will be getting her a willow basket soon with my pocket money.

                            @Megabunny and @LBJ10 : No, I didnt mean glue paste or rubber cement but cement. And hahaha, she’s alive and kicking And yes, dad really loves her. Less than me, but still a lot.

                              Really? How does one eat cement?

                                Give her some cardpaint to chew and spray the walls with animal repellent. They are usually pepper based and keep all sorts of animals away. Wear glasses when spraying it can irritate your eyes. Pet stores carry these repellents and they work.
                                If you live in a house built before the late 70s bunny might be chewing lead based paint. It tastes sweet and is very dangerous.

                                  @LBJ10 : My sister would scrap off some with her hands and..relish it xD She is 7 years elder to me so I never saw it myself, just heard her cement-escapades from others, including her. xD

                                  @Drwil : Pepper based repellents is a good idea and could work.. Maybe I could even use white vinegar solution.

                                    If you’re short on money for a willow basket you could always check around for apple trees in your area. My Isley-rabbit absolutely LOVES apple branches. Whenever he’s being naughty and chewing on things he shouldn’t be (including my shoes, grrr) apple branches make him forget about everything else, especially the young green ones.
