Are metal jingle bells safe for bunnies? I wanted to make some toys for them and a bell so it makes noise. Thanks!

I’m sure buns would love the jingle of bells, but I’d be concerned about them chewing the metal and cutting their mouth/accidentally eating the metal. And if they bent back part of the bell they might be able to eat the little ball inside. It seems like a lot of risks to me, but maybe as a supervised only toy?…

Yeah, I thought about that Moxie. But they chew their metal cage bars and haven’t hurt their teeth. They all also have a wire ball meant to put hay/greens in that they use as a toy instead. It has a little bell on it, bit its not shaped like a jingle bell. They definitely love it to make noise!( at all hours of the night lol) so I dunno.

I was also thinking that Jingle bells are made cheaper than cages ect. so they’d be more prone to break/rip and cause harm. So if you do decide to use them in a toy, I’d just be very cautious and careful, and take it out if you see them starting to break/tear/eat the bell.
