Okay, this is silly, but I can’t remember if Neville’s food should be alfalfa free or not.  (English Angora, buck, almost 7 months old.) I am out of a job, and can’t afford the food I usually get him, so I need the least expensive, but still healthy, pellet option.  Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!!

So you should begin weening your rabbit off off alfalfa and moving to non-alfalfa based adult pellets. For a complete diet, a rabbit should been given only a small amount of pellets twice a day, as well as veggies twice at day (made up of at least three different leaf types of veggies) and unlimited hay. Have you checked out the guide on the House Rabbit Society page?

I have a French Angora and he does get a cheaper pellet as the long haired buns need a slightly higher level of protein in their diet. They all have lots of oaten hay that I buy in a bale as I am on a very tight budget at the moment. I buy my greens from local farmers markets in bulk.
