I went to the vet for my year old lionhead due to finding what I was pretty sure was flea dirt. Closer inspection, found a flea. My vet confirmed this and gave me Revolution Cats.

My problem is that tonight I noticed flaking and redness around his ears and want to know if this is due to the fleas, or possible ear mites ?

Is thre any steps I should be taking to make him feel better?

(He seems in good spirits though and shows no other signs of distress other than the scratching)

They will scratch their skin raw from flea bites. All animals will do this including bunnies. They try to get the fur off to expose what is itching.
The fur should come back 1 to 2 weeks after treatment is given and the fleas die.
My bunnies and cats had this two months ago. One cat had scratched her ear till it bled. She’s fine now.
