What can you put in your litter tray to help stop poo from sticking to my bunnies bum? Does covering the litter with hay help with this?

        Suggestions please!!

Hmm. Usually their poop comes out pretty dry so it doesn’t stick. Is your bun having wet poops, or would clipping the fur around the area help if your bun is long hair?

Do you think these droppings could be cecals that he’s sitting in and they are getting smeared? Is he having normal round poops also?

I don’t have much to add other than I agree with the posts above. If droppings are stuck to your buns fur it could be that they’re sticky/wet. I use care fresh litter in my boxes and have never had a problem with droppings sticking until one of my rabbits started getting ill and was having weird poops. Maybe take a closer look at the droppings to see if they’re normal?

His poops are normal, I think it must have just been a cencal that he had Sat in. I have also got a bigger litter tray and it seems a lot better for him, I think the other one may not have been deep enough and he was pooing and peeing in the same spot all the time so his normal poos were getting wet and he was sitting in them, whereas with the new litter box the litter gets moved about and mixed up when he’s jumping in and out. Thank you for your help.
