My three girls are the first companion animals I’ve ever had besides fish, and they’ve totally changed my life. I’ve been on aggressive medication for a finger infection and it’s really making me miserable. I came home to see my pals and my girlfriend had Clarice out for play time. She came right up to me, stole the straw out of my Starbucks cup (black tea) and licked it and me then plopped right down by me. I never realized how much my bunnies totally brighten my day. Please share a similar story!

Mine are uh more on the naughty side. 1 naughty bunny+1 calm bunny= a cute fluffy nightmare

Let’s say today. Today wasn’t very good for me ,had some trouble with a horse i’m training. I came in to sit with the bunnies, and Mocha comes running up to me. She climbs on my lap (which she literally never does), and then gets off and bites my back, hard. Like imagine two overly large dragon teeth being stabbed through your back. It wasn’t a friendly playfull nibble, it was a “get out of my life you big person” bite.

Rumpus is pretty friendly though. He’ll come over and lick me if I rub his ears.

They are pretty friendly at times, but they are always joining their minds together and thinking of evil plans, haha.

I think my bunnies brighten my day every day. When I get home from work, their rooms are the first places I go. It doesn’t matter if they run over to greet me, if they’re all flopped out, or have their faces buried in their hay. Everything about them is so darn cute that they make me smile. I will have to admit that being greeted with a binky does add that special touch!

Earlier this year, my boyfriend got offered a really great job. The catch? It was on the other side of the country. I’m in my final year of my Masters degree so we knew we would only be separated for the year. However, it was pretty tough and I hated being in our house without him. That’s when I decided I needed a friend. I um’ed and ah’ed about it for a while, we aren’t actually allowed pets at our rental house (whoops!), but finally decided to just do it! Best. Decision. Ever. I absolutely love Merlin and he makes me laugh every single day. I definitely don’t think I would have been able to get through this stressful, thesis-writing year without him. My boyfriend is actually super jealous and wishes that he was living down here to play with him! He is the sweetest little character and I can definitely count on him to give me a nice big snuggle and bunny kiss when I need one. And he puts up with me smothering him with kisses, even when he doesn’t feel like it. I literally just sent my final draft of my thesis to my supervisor and afterwards I went and sat on the ground next to Merlin. He rushed up to me and gave me a great big bunny kiss, as if he knew I deserved a little lovin’ after all that formatting!

Bunnies are amazing pets, aren’t they?! I had outdoor rabbits growing up but I never got to see their personalities like I have with having an indoor rabbit. They’re definitely underrated pets!

My grandmother passed away less than two weeks ago (we were very close). Whisky has been amazing during that time. I don’t know how many times I’ve just sat in my chair holding her and crying. She apparently doesn’t mind tears in her fur.

I’m so glad that despite the fact that she’s maturing (and very much acts the naughty teenager bunny sometimes), she apparently still likes her snuggles a couple times a day. It’s been so helpful.

Whisky, I’m so sorry you lost your grandmother. I lost mine this past week too and it’s so hard. How sweet that you have such a special bond with your bunny!

Jo Leigh- I completely know what you mean. I left my boyfriend back in Boston for my PhD program 10 hours away- the program is four years long. I don’t know how I would get through the tough weeks without Anaiis. But the bf and I are still together- we’re making it work!

Human: Gosh, I’m having a bad day

Bunny: Here, place food in my mouth, that will make you feel better

                        And it does.

I think I’ve been kinda down lately because the job search is the equivalent to swimming cross current and expecting to get somewhere. When I come home Cinder always stands up against the cage and jumps onto my chest and lays down. The bad day is gone, and I can’t help but smile even though she usually ends up with her butt in my face while on my chest.

I work at a pub and usually come home at 3 am or even later and I used to come home to an empty house. But now I have Merlin who will sit up and wiffle at me until I’ve stroked his head and said hello. Its a nice welcome!

Now that I have Luna as well the love has doubled, and with the boyfriend moving in we have one big happy house full of chaos!

We got our first rabbit about 6 months after I went through a miscarriage. I was depressed from the miscarriage on. When we brought home Fleury I immediately felt a sense of purpose and was able to nurture and care for him in a way that really helped me get over the loss of our baby. I was devastated but caring for my bunnies REALLY helped me move on. They have been there for me numerous other times as well – whenever I’m upset, my boyfriend always tells me to go see the bunnies and it never fails to make me feel better. <3

Tanlover I am so glad your bunnies have helped you.  .

I have never been with out a  pet.  Except for a few months.  Then came Cotton.

I come home I say is there a Cotton in the house.  If I sit down he comes out and I pet him.  Then I go get comfy.  If I get comfy first I come out and he is at my bedroom then he hops atop his house waiting for his greens.  lol.  I go pet him and get his greens.

Its nice to have somebunny there to greet me. Especially living by myself now.  I love  loving him.  HE is so calm.

Oh he is dreaming I see his mouth twitching. His ears are twitching too.  That mouth is going again.  Must be dreaming about his greens.

I love having my own place with Cotton
