My eldest bun, Neji, is acting a bit off this afternoon. I have been at home all day, at my desk which is right next to his pen, so I know that he has eaten and drank today. I also cleaned all the cages this morning so I can see he has done regular poops today.

However, in the last few hours, I’m going to estimate about 2 and a half hours, he looks like he might be in pain. He hasn’t eaten in this time and I can’t even tempt him with treats. The reason why I think he is in pain is because of the postitioning of his feet when he is led down and also by the look on his face

I know bunnies can get a-sort-of belly ache and that you can massage them to help with it but that is all I know. I don’t know if this is what is wrong with him or how to do it.

Do any of you have some insight as to what is going on or what I can/should do.

        Many thanks.

It’s really difficult to know exactly what could be going on to be honest…we would just be speculating. You could certainly try the tummy massage though to see if it helps.

This is good info from a reliable source. Please read it and take suitable action, but don’t try to giove an enema, that’s a bit extra-curricular.

This has helped my bunnies a lot.

If it doesn’t get better in a few hours, you need to see a vet. They can x-ray the bunny and check for gas, bladder-stones, obstruction of the GI tract etc. They can also check his teeth which may give a bunny pain so he won’t eat, which is esp common in elderly bunnies.

I hope your bunny is feeling better.
