Both my buns have now been neutered and I am wanting to start the bonding process ASAP! Duke has only been neutered about two weeks ago but he was still pretty young and is not aggressive or territorial at all towards dinky.Do i still need to wait another 2 weeks?

They have been in cages side by side for a few months now and do visit each other when they are having playtime outside their cages. So far they have shown nothing but positive signs so I don’t want to rush anything and them change!

What should be my next step!?

I know we need neutral territory and patience but are there any other tips for initial bonding anyone has found work??

Adorable bun!! I would wait just to be on ht safe side. I had two brothers who i got neutered and only waited a week, everything went amazing until i rushed them a bit too much and they started flinging pee at each other, at the time I didn’t have the time to really work on them so my friend adopted one of them from me (the one i had adopted from my other friend lol). So although that was human error on my part, I would still wait just to be safe.

My main piece of advice is patience in every aspect of the process, with both bonding experiences of mine I have rushed it by convincing myself they were reading for non neutral territory and it got ugly, if I hadn’t rushed it my current bonding process would probably have been done weeks ago *sigh* haha.

Great start with the cages, if they are doing well through the bars then thats awesome!!! I recommend changing litter boxes or even switching cages every day to get them used to each others scent and see how they react to it. When the time comes I could have the first intro in the bathtub with no mat/towel just to see how they react to each other for about 30 mins. And then from there increase time, add mats gradually and if all goes well try a bathroom floor or something bigger and neutral. But definitely use the bathtub time to really study your buns movements so you can read what they will do next! Also it was recommended to me by @MoveDiagonally to keep a thread here charting progress, as you saw, which has helped me tremendously so i recommend that!

And if you reach a brick wall where they arent able to get over a certain thing but have progressed in their relationship in other ways I would definitely suggest marathon bonding (setting aside a good 3+ days and keeping them together until bonded).
