I read so much on the forums about rabbits being territorial/ possessive of their pen, litter box, stuff, etc., and I just can’t relate.  My rabbit watches me cleaning his litter box.  He’ll sit next to me like he’s supervising, but never interferes.  He rarely leaves any stray pills around.  To clean his pen, I actually have to slip almost all of the way inside of it – at floor level (it has a roof).  He usually just sniffs me.  Sometimes he continues doing whatever it was he was doing.  I can (and often do) clean it when he’s in it.  He lets my cat drink from his water dish, inside the pen.  He doesn’t care if I mess with his toys (which I do to sweep up loose fur), or the cat steals one.

He does bump me with his nose sometimes, but it’s very gentle.  What does that mean?  He also tries to pull my socks off.  Is this odd?  He just doesn’t seem territorial to me.

I have one of those bunnies. Moshi couldn’t care less about nightly cleaning because he knows cleaning means fresh hay. Unfortunately, he like to “help”!

My rabbit isn’t possessive of her cage either. I reach my hand in there sometimes to pet her and she is completely fine with it. She will make some honking noises but I think that is because she its spayed quite yet and is hormonal.

Mine don’t care, they just follow my movements waiting for food to be put out.
Their cage is more like a fenced off section of my bedroom though so that may be part of it….they don’t rearrange stuff either though.

Dethroned — Moshi is our construction bunny, and I never know where I’m going to finds things. Its not just little things either — he moves tunnels, mazes, anything that’s not velcroed or bolted down, and rarely moves anything to the same place twice.

Hubby had put a bunch of their toys on top of their hidey house while running the shop vac the other night. Moshi noticed them up there, so he proceeded hop up there and throw them off one-by-one. When he was finished with that, he went over to the basket of willow chew toys and emptied it. He hopped around inspecting his work, gave the tunnel haven a little shove and then flopped down. Being a bunny is very hard work.

^^ That is so cute. That kind of reminds me of a ferret I had. He was a ton of fun but I am horribly allergic to them.
I hope mine do more stuff like that.
I’ve tried buying toys to toss around and everything but none seem even remotely interested so far except DM pushed a cat ball very briefly. He does seem to move cagey stuff a little bit but it’s usually knocking over his food dish. Queen has only tossed something when she was mad. :/
Maybe now that she’s getting more active, post babies, she will show more interest.

Sometimes it takes one bunny doing things and another seeing it and copying. Marlee has just this week started copying Moshi playing. He did teach her how much fun digging in the litterboxes is a few weeks ago, ahem.

It’s nice to hear that there are other bunnies like mine. I was beginning to wonder based on all of the questions on here about territoriality. He’s been neutered since before I adopted him, so I wonder if that plays a part in it too. Your bunnies all sound adorable, especially the self declared ‘construction bunny’!
