I’ve been using paper litter for my Holly since I first brought her home, and previously, I really loved the brand I was using. But recently, the company changed their litter and added zeolite to the paper blend. The actual paper pellets look the same, but sometimes she tends to nibble the litter while eating hay. I haven’t used the new bag yet, so I wanted to ask before putting in if I should return it and look for something else.

        Thanks!

It is ExquisiCat Naturals Paper Fragrance-Free Cat Litter, but recently they added Zeolite to the paper pellets.

I would say that zeolite by itself is not harmful. Naturally occurring zeolite could potentially contain toxins because it attracts all sorts of ions and bonds with them. When it’s produced in a lab though, it would be free of contaminants. They use it for fish tank filters and drinking water filters. My guess is that the zeolite added to litter would not harm your bunny. If you’re worried though, you could switch to something else.
