Taking Pumpkin on her first car ride since we brought her home a couple weeks ago and LUCKY her…it’s to the vet! Just a routine checkup that we got free with our adoption-fee. It’s the only rabbit-savvy vet in town so I hope it goes well!!

Vet trip went pretty good (minus the fact that she is now ignoring us!)…only concern is that she has some dry/chapping of her “lady parts.” Vet said to watch for a few days and if it doesn’t get better to put some vaseline or coconut oil on it. Any experience with this? I don’t want to put something on it that will make her mess with it and irritate it more!

I am not sure about Vaseline, but I dont think coconut oil will do any harm, if not any good either.

Bramble totally ignores us after going to the vet too, he goes in a pure huff! I am not sure about putting anything on the dry skin, it might encourage her to lick the area more and she would ingest whatever you put on it. Coconut oil is really good for humans but I am not sure about rabbits.

Perhaps just some plain neosporin? (NOT the one with pain relief, that is a no-no for all animals) I’ve never heard of this condition before though, so I will defer to someone with more experience.
Glad she made the trip okay. Maybe her favorite herbs or other healthy treat will reduce the amount of bunny butt you receive.

She has been zooming in circles in the living room all night…guessing she’s forgot about it for now!

The vet did warn that if we put anything on it, that might draw attention to it and make it worse. We’ll continue to keep our eye on it for now.

Glad it went well! I wonder if the chafing happened from before you got her (maybe the conditions weren’t great) and shes on the mend now-Hope thats the case!
