I’ve noticed that Pumpkin makes a sort of “snorting” noise sometimes. I think its a bad noise because I’ve mostly heard it when I’m doing things in her cage or in her territory. I heard it once when I was feeding her out of my hand and I had to re-position which she didn’t like so she snorted and batted all the food out of my hand.

Its different than the grunting noise that Boston used to make before she would start humping whatever extremity was nearby!

Anyone else have a snorting bunny? Any idea what it means? She sounds like a tiny piggy!

Could it be a growl? Kieko makes a grunt/snort noise and lunges when someone reaches in her cage but only if she thinks she’s going to be picked up (like to have her nails trimmed — I swear she hears us talking and understands what “nail trim” means!).

Oh maybe that’s what it is Jack Rabbit! It’s hard to call it a growl b/c it really is just so darn cute!

Speaking of nail trims…I know I need to that, but man I do not miss that part of being a bunny mom. Do you think any vets will do it for me?!

They’d be happy to take your money for that, but it’s very quick and not too bad. You can cut them long until you’re more confident

For me, its not so much the cutting of the nails but the picking up of the bunny!

When my son will do nails, I get him to do it, otherwise I’ve been taking my buns to the vet. Found out recently that one of the vet techs does bunny sitting on the side and will do house call bunny nails since I live just over a mile from the vet’s office. I am so excited!

We got pretty good at it with Boston. I’m just feeling like Pumpkin is still so scared of us and I don’t want to make that worse!

                    House call nails??? That’s awesome!
LLH, I’m not sure if I’d worry about clipping them so soon. He’s still awfully young and I bet he would be OK for awhile. You’re wise not to stress him over nails. He def. doesn’t need that
