Went to look at some potential rabbits for adoption today.

One decided to try and chew my shoelaces and after I picked it up and started petting it started chattering its teeth.

That a good sigh that it tolerates me lol?

Its a sign that the bunny seems to like pets, and a sign that the bunny is likely a chewer. Amazing that he let you pick him up!

This was a rabbit that was surrendered to the humane society after its original owner became ill and could no longer care for it. So it’s pretty used to human contact. Went right up to my wife and sat next to her staring till she gave him some pets.

It sounds to me like the bunny has chosen you! Although also agree that he/she might be a chewer. Bramble chose me when he came home, he was brought to my house with a sibling, they were the last two of an accidental litter (pet shop selling two ‘same sex’ bunnies) that were up for adoption, I put my hand in the carrier with the intention of picking each bunny up in turn and seeing how they were with me when bramble started insanely licking my hand, I had been chosen!

                Yep. Sounds like a keeper.
