        Hello,

I have a question regarding my Holland Lop Loki, he’s 4 months old and about an hour ago, while I was with him, he started doing this snorting sounds (I think), it sounded like a pig’s oink with a little bit of goose. It was quite loud, he had his mouth open, he made that noise constantly, around ten times, then stopped and up to now it didn’t happen again.

Prior to that he was trying to abuse my innocent arm, and he is quite noisy bunny, but this noise was a first.

After he did that, he was like he always is, playful, eating and playing with me. Also, after that, he started pushing my hand with his nose quite hard. And then again tried to abuse my arm.

He’s also pooping normal, he’s got no runny nose. If it wasn’t for that noise and the nose pushing I wouldn’t notice anything out of the ordinary.

He’s eating vegetables (one cup per day) and pellets. Since I am from Argentina, hay here is no good, and they can actually die for eating that, since they can get all kinds of bacterias. Vets here are also awful regarding bunnies, my last bunny died because a “savvy” vet gave me a medication that killed her.

I also send my inquiry to the people that gave me the bunny, they are bunny lovers and breeders. But here is the middle of the night, so the wait until I get a reply will be too long.

Any idead of what it could be?

        Thanks!

Hi! I’m from Argentina too and I can give you the number for a guy who sells very good quality alfalfa! I’ve been buying from him for around a year now. And I have the name of a very good rabbit savvy vet.
Regarding the sounds it sounds like honking – a noise from hormonal bunnies. It’s normal.

Thanks! I just replied to your pm.

I also got in contact with the breeder that gave him to me, he said the same thing, that it was honking or sneezing. Loki didn’t do that noise again, and he is great. So I’m relieved and happy.
