I just got a new kitten a couple days ago and want her to get acquainted with Ralphie! So far they’re very interested in each other, and I have the kittens nails trimmed so she can’t accidentally scratch him or anything. I wanna get them used to each other before she gets to be bigger than him, which won’t be much longer cause he’s a 2.5 lb mini rex! What’s your experience with introducing kittens to rabbits? Any advice?

The best advice I can give is to tire that kitten out before letting her interact with Ralphie. Play with her until she’s totally tuckered out. That should keep her from wanting to get rough with Ralphie and make things go a lot smoother. Also, clicker training worked very well with my cat, although she was an adult when we got our bun. Reward her for being calm and relaxed, if she gets into this hunting mode (staring, stalking), you should put a stop to that right away, don’t wait for her to actually pounce or chase. Clap your hands, or make some kind of noise to snap her out of it. Then reward her again for calming down. If she does pounce or try to get rough with Ralphie, remove her from the situation and get some more play time in before trying again.

Good luck with your kitten, I bet they will be great friends. My cat and bunny get along just fine even though she’s pretty high strung. She learned what’s acceptable around the bunny and what’s not.

That’s a great idea! I clicker train my dogs, does it work the same way with cats? And thank you, I usually play with her before bedtime so I’ll spend some extra time with that before i let them play. as of right now his cage has been the barrier and I’ve let them get used to each other’s scents but I really wanna let them actually interact by the end of the week cause she won’t stay small for very long and I’d like him to have that advantage lol
