Hi all, my little boy Elfin is 2.5 months old. He has been drink almost whole night. I hear him touching the water bottle right now.. He drank about double amount of water than usual. It started just few hours ago.
Actually I let him out of cage every night, and he circled around me and tried to mount on my feet!!! It was so cute!!!

I know that’s a sign of rut. It’s his first time.
But he’s so young, less than three months. Is that normal?
And is it the reason why he drink more water than usual? I don’t think he’s drinking excessively so far, but it’s just weird since he has never touched water bottle such frequently as if he has been very thirsty. I hope he’s not feeling bad.

All his active was normal last night, besides circle and bite me at times, he was quite energetic and rush to the hay and food happily. He took a nap beside my feet rather than in his own bed. (I hate the cold weather. His body warmed my feet, what a sweetie!)

Maybe the water bottle is not working properly – check it and see. Might be a better idea to do a water bowl anyway.

            Sarita,
it was working properly as always. when I touch the spout water comes to my hand smoothly. And I saw the water line down though I don’t have a scale on the bottle.

I thought the water bottle thing too, especially after AH said she had a problem with that one time.

If the bottle’s ok, maybe he’s eating more hay just thirsty? Mine go through spurts where they devour their hay and drink tons of water.
