So, I took my bunnies out for “play time” in a space they’d only been to about 4 times. (We’ve had them for about 1 month). They were both in their litter box and I looked over and Autumn, my female bunny, was humping and mounting Boo, my male bunny! We were told by the place we adopted them from that they were neutered and spayed, and their behavior reflects that. They’re both 3 years old and have pretty much been bonded their whole lives. This makes me even more nervous because Autumn is about double his size. Please help!!!!

I’m guess that the new-ish area triggered a need to “reestablish” who the top bunny is in the relationship. Your girl was probably humping your boy because she is the dominant bunny and this newer area made her feel insecure about her position. The solution? Make sure that other bunny knows she is still the boss. I wouldn’t be too worried. As long as your boy isn’t getting upset or stressed by the humping, then it’s okay to let them do what they need to do for their relationship.

I agree with LBJ As long as it’s not causing issues/stress/fights it’s okay and will probable die down after they get used to the new area.
