Hope no one minds I tried to put a lot of questions into one post instead of multiple seperate ones.

        1. We are considering adopting a 2nd rabbit, our lop/lionhead mix is about 7 months old, is a female and has recently been spayed.

One of my concerns is should we hold off on getting additional play items until if/when she has bonded? We are wanting to get a maze but don’t want territorial issues to come up with one bunnys smell on it then introducing another bunny. Also considering another cottage for when the 2nd bunny is added if we are able to go that route.

2.Are brown sack lunch bags safe for bunnies to play with? I seem to read a lot of contradictions on this one.

        3. What is the safest woods to use for rabbits when making items for them, another thing I see a lot of contradictions on.

        4. Generally speaking how do rabbits act around other rabbits with health issues. We are considering Zeus as a possible bonding candidate

But he has some teeth issues. I have worked around special needs animals before but am wondering if there are any specifics I should know about?

        5. If constructing a ramp for inter level climimbing, how thick should it be?

        6. Is there any safe type of carpeting for bunny enclosures IV they end up chewing on it?

Sorry for all the questions, and as always your advice is appreciated.

          Hello!
          1. Depending on how territorial the bunnies you are trying to bond are, smells on the mazes could effect them. It would most likely be fine, but since you don’t know, I would hold off on buying/using them until afterwards.

          2. Plain brown lunch bags are great bunny toys, as long as you do not seeing them having an excess of glue.

          3. Generally the safest woods are those of non-pitted fruit trees such as apple and pear, although if you are aiming to build something an untreated pine wood would be best.

          4. From what I have seen, rabbits generally do well around others with special needs. The only thing I would consider would be that they may have to be separated during meals because Zeus will take longer to eat. He is adorable!

          5. I haven’t seen any guaranteed measurements for this, but if it was me, I think I would make it at least 8 inches wide and 1/2 inch thick, depending on the wood and the weight of your bun.

          6. I don’t know of any safe carpeting but seagrass or hay mats would be a great chewable alternative.

Never feel bad about asking questions-we are all here to learn and help others!
