So I’ve had my bunny since June and she is spayed, she’s about 6/7 months and it’s been really hard for me to bond with her.

She has her days where she lets me pet her, however many times she lunges at me or bites me when approaching her. I rarely pick her up and spend a lot of time around her and sitting by her, she will come up to me and jump in my lap, however will not let me touch her. I try my best to be patient but it makes me sad that she is being so sassy and mean towards me.

Anyone have any advice or answers as to why this may be happening?

How long has she been with you? I just got a 3 month rabbit on Tuesday and he does the same thing minus the lunging and biting. He doesn’t like me touching him (much) but comes over to see me and sniff me. I’m just going to stay calm and wait for him to get use to me. Have you tried giving her treats?

I’ve had her since June, I do try giving her treats and she takes it from my hand.. but when i reach over to pet her she will lunge, bite and grunt. She has no problem jumping on me, licking me/my clothes and taking treats from my hand.. It’s strange and I don’t know what else to do.

              How do you approach her?

I usually approach her by going in slowly with my hand …. i don’t know if she’s just grumpy because then there are random days like today where she will let me pet her

Its a delicate thing. If you go too slowly, you are “sneaking’ up on her. if you go too much from the top, you are “pouncing” on her. If she nips you or lunges squeal, but don’t move your hand. This will let her know that she is hurting you, and will show her that you are not afraid of her. This is a good way to be “top bunny”. You can try this and see how she reacts.
