My bunny has been on Baytril since her spay last Tuesday. She has started having mushy poo, not really sure it’s diarrhea. Could this be from the medicine? She’s reading more now then she did pre spay.

It could be – this is a rabbit safe medicine – is there any reason why the vet put her on it? It’s not usual to do antibiotics after a spay.

She had a massive infection in her uterus. It is preventative to ensure it didn’t spread anywhere. I talked to the vet today and she thinks it probably is from the medicine. She’s eating, drinking, jumping, and binkying her little tail off, so she’s feeling great.

A probiotic, like Bene-Bac may be helpful to get her droppings back to normal. It is often recommended that it be given to a rabbit when they are put on antibiotics.
