Nutmeg has lost some weight. I don’t know if I should be concerned or happy. Awhile back I made a post about her cage. When we first got her (over a year ago) they had her in a metal cage with a metal bottom. Well we bought another cage but it also had a metal bottom. Finally 2 weeks ago we bought a new cage with no metal bottom. She can finally feel the bedding on her feet. But ever since than she has lost weight, seems happier, eating more hay than pellets and licking us more. So do you think her loosing weight has to do change of her cage? Or something else??

It really is impossible for anyone to answer this question.

To determine her weight loss have you been weighing her on a regular basis?

No, we can just tell she has lost some weight.

What I think you should do is to start weighing her – you can probably call the vet’s office and they will have her weight from the last visit that way you have an actual weight to help you determine if she has indeed lost any weight.

She’s never been to a vet. We just got her last year and haven’t had the money to take her.
