So, I have two 7month old bunnies- supposedly both females (sisters) but were never vet-checked though he said he is almost positive about the genders.I adopted them at about 2 months old. Hershey and Fluffy.

But, we’ve had some pregnancy symptoms in Fluffy! She was always the less friendlier one but recently she even growled and pounced, but often she’s an angel*! (Hershey is never like that) I heard it also can be a hormone change at this age too? The one other behavior change is nesting. We give them hay in their hutch but until now, they’ve never piled it. Since the last cleaning though all the hay has been piled into one side and i did see some of her fur pieces on it! When i went in to clean it a little she was very curious coming to the inside part to check it out ; she wasn’t even eating the food i gave her to distract her! I then stopped after a little bit because of this.

Yikes!  These are all pregnancy symptoms! but he did say they’re both girls. The other options are hormones ( never been spayed) or also the weather is getting colder here, maybe its for that? What do you think? If she is pregnant i know i’ll have to stop cleaning out the nest area and when do they have to be separated? I have no other cage as of now! I don’t want to separate them but will to save them!

*it seems she was more friendlier on cooler days/evening cool? and when I’m alone with them/quieter. I thought so at least.

PLEASE HELP!!! WHAT SHOULD I DO? WHAT IS GOING ON?????????

This is definitely not my area of knowledge, but here are some resources that may help you.

How to tell if your rabbit is pregnant – here’s a video showing ways to tell if your rabbit may be pregnant.

It could also be a “false pregnancy”, on which there is information here.

I know there are probably people here who can give you better, personalized advice, but hopefully these help a little!

Sounds like its time for a vet visit for a checkup, sex verification, and discussion about spaying (female bunnies have an 80% chance of uterine cancer down the road – even as young as 2 years old).

If she is nesting, then it is the final stage of pregnancy. So if she is pregnant, then the babies should be coming any day now. Gender misidentification is not uncommon. Bunnies can be pretty tricky, especially when they are young. Usually the only “obvious” indicator is when you look down there and find some bunny family jewels. Have you tried looking at Hershey’s belly? At 7 months, those bad boys would likely be visible. Their absence, however, does not guarantee a girl.

I agree with the others, a vet visit is probably in order. Unless, of course, you find babies in the nest with the next few days. Then you will obviously have an answer to the big question. Make that two big questions: Is this a false pregnancy and is Hershey really a boy. A vet visit would be a good idea regardless though. You’re going to want to get your girls spayed and it would give you an opportunity to talk to your vet about it.
