Hi guys, I just made my account and I apologize if this topic has already been discussed in the forum. So today I was just petting my bunny while watching tv, and I happened to see some creepy crawly bug run across his fur and I immediately grabbed it and threw it off. It then came to attention and I realized that I should do a deep inspection of his fur, I found one more thingie crawling around his fur but I was unable to pull that one out. I spend about 45 minutes looking for that same bug, but I couldn’t find it lol. Anyway, I did a google search on fleas and rabbits. I then observed my rabbits fur again and noticed these tiny little black dots piled around in some areas of his fur, but I’m not sure what they are, so I’m posting a picture of it on here. Is this a flea problem? What are those things? If this is a flea problem, what will be the best way to fix it. Now that I think about it, I do see him biting at his fur always scratching himself but I assumed he was just a process of him grooming. He’s usually going at it around his legs or towards his back, or under his chin. All and any help will be appreciated from you, thankyou!

Yep! LOL! That looks like flea poop to me….. Having 3 dog’s, I sadly know what it looks like. Nothing to stress over, easily fixed. Grab some Revolution for kitten’s and apply it to Oreo and they should be gone in no time. I treat my dog’s (higher dosage) and Henry (kitten dosage) with Revolution twice a year and it does the trick beautifully. Take care to only buy Revolution though – other brands can be super harmful to bunny’s and even kill them. I have to buy mine from the vet but over the counter. If you come across Frontline – don’t use it on Oreo! This is one brand of flea killer that will harm or kill your bunny.

By the way, welcome to BB! And I/we hope you come back and join in all the forums. Cheers!

Oh, and apply it on his neck near/in between his shoulder blades where he can’t lick it. Part the fur and apply it to his skin like you did in your photo. You’ll be all good!
