Hey everyone, I need advice. My bunny lives in a hutch outside but I bring her inside almost everyday to run around the house to stretch her legs. But when ever I try to pick her up to put her back in her hutch at night she kicks and scratches me. I know that rabbits don’t like being picked up but I have no other way to transfer her between her hutch and my room. If I don’t pick her up it means she has to stay in her hutch all day, bored and restless. I hate to leave her alone but also hate putting her under stress when I pick her up. Any suggestions on what to do?

I know you said you cannot have her in your room, but can you tell us why? Maybe there is a way to problem solve this for you? Just curious, not trying to force or coerce anything

I agree with Flopsie, but if there really is no other way, I have three little words for you: papaya. Enzyme. Tablets.

They promote good digestion, and rabbits go nuts for them (well, most do anyway).

Or if you’ve got some other kind of treat that she knows the sound of, like her pellets for example, you can use the sound of the bag or bottle to entice her to come to you.

I used this method to get Theodore from one room to a playpen in another, and now he’s so used to it that he does it on his own, goes through the whole apartment right to the playpen!
