My bunny, Jude, is a little over 2 months and shedding quite rapidly. I recently noticed little dark spots and thought they were bugs or something but I dug deep in his fur where the dark spots are and no bugs or anything..just skin..they look kind of like tiny bald spots and are mostly on his face..Is this normal for shedding?

Usually when rabbits are shedding, you’ll see short dark fur (the undercoat is like white, so you can defiantly see it if your bunny is colored). That’s the new fur growing in.

A picture would be helpful too.

My bunny Usagi is molting right now and has developed black spots in different areas. Its like little rings of black. It reminds me of a wild cat that would have a coat with spots. I know its caused by the shedding hopefully that’s what you are experiencing as well.

The spots got bigger and balder and now you can definitely tell that it’s just where he’s molting. Thanks for the replies though!
