Hi, when I first got my rabbits I purchased about 4-5 different bags of pellets for them and wasn’t really thinking about it-I have a pet food storage container, and I dumped all of them in there, kind of mixed it together, and have been feeding them a scoop a day. (The scoop isn’t very large.) I’ve finally settled on Oxbow pellets and a National Geographic pellet mix (which they love all NG products it seems), but I was wondering if maybe it was bad to mix different pellets together? I know I have Kaytee, Purina Garden, Vitakraft, and like I said the Oxbow and NG. There’s no way I can unmix all the pellets now lol, but is it bad in the first place? Thanks!

I don’t think it’s a big deal really however I would just stick with the Oxbow in the future. I just looked at the National Geographic pellet mix and I do not recommend you give this to them again. It’s full of junk food that is not good for rabbits…which is why I’m sure they love it.

Yup, I would get the oxbow pellets and start gradually phasing out the mix you’ve been using. They might not be pleased at first, but mixes like that are not the healthiest choice.

They will be sad to hear that. I buy them the NG brand forage mix and put a pinch in with their hay and they love digging in their hay for it…but I probably will cut out the mixed pellets and make them eat the plain oxbow. I know it’s best for them it just looks so unappetizing lol
