Hi just wondered if anyone had any advice, I have 2 rabbits 1 male 18 weeks and 1 female 10 weeks anyway just recently my male bunny Bubbles has started to nip/nibble me it’s not really biting as it doesn’t hurt at all it’s just like he’s having a little taste but I am a bit worried that it will progress from nipping to biting and I don’t want this to happen at the moment the bunnies are being kept separately as Bubbles isn’t being neutered until this Friday and I don’t want any baby bunnies so any advice is very welcome

If he’s just nibbling, he could be trying to communicate with you or groom you. If he nibbles too hard, squeal to let him know in bunny language that he’s hurting you.

I think you maybe right and that he could be trying to communicate as it often happens in the morning when stick my fingers through the cage bars to fuss/greet him so maybe he’s trying to tell me hello and he wants a fuss, although that’s just a guess as these are my first bunnies and I’m still learning as I go about them he also tends to nip my partners feet when he’s running around indoors so maybe my partner has stinky feet that need grooming lol

Funny you should mention feet, Bramble has a thing for my slippers, only mine not the other halfs. He used to nibble us occasionally and I did the yelping thing, he has also been neutered a few weeks ago though so im not sure whether it was the neutering or the yelping that helped but he hasn’t nipped either of us (just my slippers) for a few weeks now so something has helped.

Aha bubbles has gotten into the lovely habit of nibbling my partner bum when he squats down on the floor, as your can imagine my partner jumped a little, I on the other hand found it highly amusing
