        Hey everyone,

If you don’t want to listen to my rant then don’t read this but I know you guys will understand.

I’m currently serving in the Royal Air Force in the UK. My job means I live 300 miles away from home, and only get to see my family and friends on certain weekends. I bought my bun peanut to have in my room with me 7 months ago, and ever since then he has been amazing. As soon as I walk into my room he puts a huge smile on my face, I can cuddle him, stroke him, watch him binky around my room, heck I even talk to him. For me he is the substitute and company from home that I don’t get at work….

        Anyway,

About a month ago now I got moved to a different base…one that doesn’t allow pets. I was devastated, and no one seemed to care because to everyone else, ”he’s just a rabbit, why can’t you just get rid of him.” Etc etc….

Peanut has been living with my parents but I’m missing him so so much. So much so that I have found another base close by to live at, that will let me have him here. It’s a little bit further away from where I work and the friends I have here. But it means I get my peanut back. Everyone thinks I’m crazy moving away from my friends for his sake….but they just don’t understand what peanut means to me.

I worry that I’ve made a silly decision moving further away for peanut. But I know how much you guys love all your buns too and think you’d probably do the same given my situation!!!

Anyway…..thanks for listening to my rant..sorry you had to endure it!!!

        Amy

I would have made the same decision as you did, moving to be with your bun. <3
To be fair, animals listen far better than people do.

I would do exactly the same thing in those circumstances…

Ditto here. Sometimes my bunnies are what help me make it through a rough day!

Everyone wants to come home to someone…..
I prefer my pets any day over kids and a hubby!
They are always happy to see me – the hubby, not so much!

If it contributes to your happiness, then your friends and colleagues are going to “get” a better you despite the distance. Plus there are so many ways to stay in touch with people.
I couldn’t imagine been away from my bunnies- so I’m another who absolutely understands this decision.

I would do the same thing.  Must have my bunny with me.  If Cotton can’t come I don’t go

He isnt’ welcome at the inlaws so I dont’ go.   pfffft. fie on them

The base friends etc fie on them for not understanding.  Pets are good for us.  Medically proven too.

Theres no love like bunny love.

I feel like telling your friends.   Well you are just a friend I will get rid of you.  When they say Peanut is just a bunny get rid of him.

Really thats about how it feels.  Not that I would really get rid of my friends but hey.  Thats not fair to say that about a beloved pet.  Come on.
