What are some of your favorite things to buy for your bun? I noticed a lot of people find bunny-safe items at stores like ikea, target, walmart, etc., and i’m curious to see what kinds of toys/chewables/habitat/etc things that people buy!

        For example…….

        – A litterbox at a petstore ranges from $12-25, I purchased a shallow plastic storage container instead at Target for $6!

        – Cut up rugs can be placed under the wire of the cage door to make a ‘ramp’ to the floor. These sell for $7-14, Ikea sells one particular style for 99 cents!

        – Pet dishes from a pet store can be as much as $10, the Dollar Tree sells heavy ceramic pet dishes for (obviously) $1

        – Louie spends a lot of time in his cardboard bungalow, which is a cardboard box turned upside down with a door cut through it. Cardboard boxes that 24-packs of bottled beer come in are great for this. Just rip off the top lid panels and cut out a door!

What money-saving and creative ideas do you guys have?

You have most of mine! Toilet paper tubes and paper plates, my bunnies LOVE these.

There are some toys and treats that I do like getting at the petstore though. My bunnies go crazy for the Snak Shak logs, and it also trims down their teeth so I reccomend that.

You can find old bedsheets in your house/comforters(I use comforters) to use at the bottom of your rabbits cage.

I also make carboard hideaways for my bunnies. I also make toys out of cardboard, paper and toilet paper tubes. I tried paper plates but mine aren’t too fond of them.

I did splurge and bought them a Cottontail Cottage. Usagi got hurt by falling on the ramp leading down. I put some stuff back on the ramp so they could have it back and then I made my biggest splurge and bought them the Hopper’s Hide Away fort kit. So now they have a little castle fortress. They love it.

I will definitely check the Dollar Tree from the pet dishes. Right now they have ceramic crocks to drink out of but have plastic bowls for their pellets. You definitely have some great tips!

I will add the pics of my bunnies homemade hideaway and their little fortress.

Mine love the maze haven and tunnel haven. They play in the maze, hide in it and sleep in it. I like to rotate things in and out of the bunny room so I also just got a mini haven to keep in there all the time since its smaller. I’m guessing they’ll mainly sleep in it. Hubby built Beka27’s sideways E hidey house which I thought they’d sleep in, but apparently its for running through and digging up the fleece in!

Yep the bunnies love being in the tunnel areas. When ever I come into their room I find them in there. Sometimes I will take their pellets and a few craisins and hide them throughout the tunnels and the cottage and they run to find them. Like JackRabbit mine like to sleep in their too. I haven’t tried the maze haven I have bought the hoppers hide aways before and I knew they would love this. I have changed the configuration around too to mix things up but they seem to like how it is set up now.

I still need to check out Ikea about those rugs you mentioned and go to the Dollar store.
