My rabbit went to the vets yesterday to get his bottom cleaned up as his poops were getting stuck a lot to his fur, he was cleaned up and they said to maybe limit his pellets to just at night because he could be eating them instead of the poops they are supposed to eat and also to help increase his hay intake. Anyway today he has been sat eating his hay a lot more than usual but every time I go to stroke him he will put his back to me or move away this is unusual as he normally loves being stroked. Iv also gave him his pellets for the evening (I’m from the UK so its night here right now) and he hasn’t touched them he sniffed them and laid back down? he normally goes mad for them at night?

If he’s been eating his hay and drinking water, there’s probably nothing to worry about medically, though I would keep a close eye on him. The “bunny butt” and snubbing you may very likely be due to the fact that he’s offended that you dragged him to the vet. It’s also possible that his mental eating schedule is off since you’ve cut off his morning pellets and gone only for the night ones. Once again, keep a close eye on him and make sure he’s still eating and drinking, and his attitude and interest in pellets may change after a day or two. If not, you may want to offer him a different brand of Timothy hay pellets. Limit his portions (change slowly) to 1/4 cup to 1/8 cup. c:

He seemed fine yesterday morning but just now actually I was sat with him and he first growled and lunged at my brother and then he was fine and now he just lunged at me and I didn’t even do anything I didn’t move or anything that would startle him. It’s so upsetting because he’s never been like this he has always been so friendly and would let you touch him anywhere and now I feel like I have to be on edge with him all the time. He hasn’t been the same since his neuter I feel like he’s got aggressive since then?

How long ago was he neutered? Takes about a month before the rabbit’s hormones die down after being castrated. I know if someone cut my balls off I’d lunge at them all day and night for revenge.

It’s been about 6 weeks now since he was castrated so the hormones should have died down by now :-/
