Trixie is having her first vet exam today!! I’m so nervous. She is congested and has been having white boogers and crusty eyes. When she breathes I can hear the wheezing in her chest What should I expect?? She has a full appetite and she is not acting any different it’s like she doesn’t know or care she’s sick lol. I just want to know what tests she might have done and what medication they will probably give her. This way I’ll know if the vet is any good or not.

This has never really happened to me, but when my friends rabbit was like this, they prescribed him with a powder to put sort of in his nose. They might need to flush out everything in her nose (if that’s what’s making her sneeze).

This sounds like either a URI or possibly snuffles (pasturella), though most likely it’s a URI. Your vet will likely prescribe you some kind of antibiotic such as Bactrim or Baytril or possibly something a little stronger (here is a list of rabbit-safe antibiotics), or they might suggest doing some blood work. Blood work can be very stressful for bunnies, though, so unless your vet highly recommends doing it, then I’d suggest not doing that. But just listen to whatever your rabbit-savvy vet advises, of course.

One huge tip I recommend is throwing a towel over the carrier when you go, at least/especially the front part. The less she sees, the less stressed she’ll be.

I agree with funny-looking-rabbit, sounds like an upper respiratory infection. I haven’t seen it in rabbits but I lived on a farm where most of the animals caught it. Wheezing, discharge from the nose and eyes, and congestion were all common symptoms.
