I am fairly upset at this point..

Currently, I am following a page on Facebook about rehoming animals and stuff like that.. I was scrolling through the posts.. When I see something that was just plain wrong in my opinion.

The picture was a 24″ by 12″ rabbit cage, with four rabbits inside it! The girl was selling this cage for fifty dollars.

It was horrible, the girl labeled the cage as “Big enough for four rabbits!” I was in absolute shock.. Honestly, that cage isn’t even big enough for one rabbit! I was peeved, and to make it worse, people who didn’t know about the needs of rabbits were asking the cost and everything..

It just makes me so angry to see people who are going to mistreat rabbits in the future.

I apologize for the rant.. I just needed to get that out of my system. I am just disappointed that people still think a small cage works for a rabbit..

I hear you LBP. This is another one of those “just because you could doesn’t mean you should” cases. I too would like to save the world, one bunny at a time.

Our frustrations with people who have no clue what they’re doing with rabbits will NEVER end.

At the end of the day you cant change the world alone. Just try your best not to blow up; comment what the appropriate size for a cage would be perhaps? At least you have a good place to rant to…

I can fit into my pantry, doesn’t mean I want to live there! When I was given Ox I was given his previous cage as well, it was only 24″ x 24″, I thought he looked too cramped in that thing and he’s a tiny jersey wooly. I can’t even imagine how uncomfortable it would be for just 1 rabbit let alone 4 in an even smaller cage.

You should definitely step in with a comment about the appropriate cage size. Maybe add in a few links to some rabbit care sites, such as this one and the HRS. Even if the poster didn’t listen someone else might and that’s better than all of them believing that rabbits can live in such small spaces. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you this, but if you do speak up do so in a respectful way.
