I let my rabbit in my room this morning to play, and when I went to put her back in the cage, she kept running and kinda twisting in the air FAST! She also kept making a loud thumping noise. I couldn’t see her, cuz she was under my bed, so if she mad or something? When I tried to reach and grab her and took her fronts legs and stretched them out toward my hands, like she was trying to claw me. Is she mad there, or playing? I really hope she’s not turning mean! She’s only about 10 weeks! Thanks!

hmm its kind of hard with out seeing it. but could the twisting in mid air be a binky?

also, I have yet to hear a bun claw at people. I’ve heard of nudge, nip, bite, lunch, but I haven’t see a claw. The only time i’ve seen a stretched out “claw” move was when they stretch..could that be it?

She may have been playing at first but she could also have not been too happy about going back in her cage. My girl bunny thumps when she is mad. It became quite difficult to put her back in her cage when she use to be caged. You could try luring her in with a treat or a couple of pellets if she likes those.
I don’t think you have to worry about her being mean. =)

If she’s thumping with her feet, that means she’s annoyed and possibly trying to get you to leave her be… because she doesn’t want to go back into her cage! I suggest not chasing her down to try and get her to go back, and instead luring her in with a healthy treat. This will make her feel more comfortable with going back on her own.
