So I tried to search on BB to see if this has been addressed before. But it seems like it was attributed to hormones. This isn’t the case though. As you guys know we just got the new foster, Grayson. Whenever we walk away from him and he does not want us to, he will come running full force at us and lunge while growling. I’ve been trying the bunny butt technique (turn my back on him) and the sqeaking. I’m not sure he’s understanding. What can I do to communicate better to him that this behavior is not acceptable.

You can try a couple things: thump your foot when he starts to do this, loudly and firmly. Then turn away from him and ignore him. The behavior will continue if you respond to it, because he’ll see that he’s getting what he wants. If this doesn’t work, what you could do is take some kind of screen – like a fan screen or pet gate or even a piece of cardboard or something – and as you’re walking away, hold this behind you so it blocks him. Eventually he may be put off by being stopped so suddenly by an unfamiliar shape that he will be discouraged to do this. The main thing is not to give him any attention aside from a thump.

Yeah, that’s why I’ve been doing the bunny butt method. Turn around and give him my back and wait till he approaches nicely. I’ll just try to thump before giving him the butt. Maybe it’ll get through to him. When I was having aggression issues with Ian he understood quickly what the issue was. Grayson just seems a little thick. =p

Do what I do…. stand there with my hand on my hip while pointing my finger saying ‘your a naughty boy’!

I’m not saying this will work BB – but I feel better after going ‘crook’ at him!

                Lol!
