I received BunBun when he was about  8 weeks old. He’s now around 20 weeks. I started litter training him about 3 weeks after we got him. And he did excellent! He knew right where to go! But starting this week he’s been pooping more on the floor rather than in his box I don’t know if it’s a maturation thing or not (he’s going to the vet Wednesday for a normal check up). It could be him marking his territory. I just don’t know!

I was just curious if there were any other reasons why he’d be doing this….

(He pees just fine in his litterbox still…just the poop.)

          Hi! BunBun is super cute!
Is he neutered? At 20 weeks hormones would be in full swing definitely and would likely be causing an increase in territory marking. It was nearly impossible to fully train my male until he was neutered for about a month.
Another thing to try would be to reposition the litter box where he poops more. Frustrating! My guy decided he wanted to poop in front of his litter box. When I shifted it forward a bit it helped.
Not where I wanted it, but he had other ideas!
          Are they scattered poops?
Scattered is more likely territory marking.

Thanks! No not yet. His check up visit this Wednesday is to see if he’s a boy or girl (I’ve been told boy but when we got him it was still too early to see).
Yeah the poops are scattered or in his hidey house. I built him a pretty decent size pen so he’s not really crammed into a small area. I’m thinking maybe a bigger litter box (I just have one of those store bought corner ones built for rabbits). Hopefully Wednesday will give me a direction to go! haha.

Other than that he’s a normal, happy, binkying bunny <3

We bought one of those corner litterboxes when we got our first bunny but switched to cat litterboxes after we learned! I think switching from the corner one to the cat one is a right of passage we all go through!

I love the Big Lebowski btw

My boyfriend was in charge of naming BunBun so I decided his full named would be Bunny Lebowski haha.

@JackRabbit Yeah in the end I think it’s time to upgrade his box  Growing up so fast -sniffle-

For the time being I put him in his old cage, it’s a little smaller but the pooping all over the floor was getting out of hand….Fingers crossed the vet can help me out to some degree xD
