Forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A HELP Flash was biting my plant leaves!!

        I have a phalenosis orchid and I fought flash nibbling at it! She only took maybe 4 bites will she be ok? I have no vet access till 9 am tomorrow and I’m panicking that it’s poisonous I could call the emergency vet but 90% of them don’t deal with rabbits please help I’m so scared

          You should be OK… Make sure she has plenty of hay and water to move things through. Monitor her behavior for any changes.

            OK… Checked out some sites and it does state they are highly toxic to bunnies… Was it the flower or the leaves and did she actually eat it of just pull some bits off. I know how you are feeling, Piglet managed to get to some fishbone fern in a terrarium when he was small, it’s also highly toxic. Fortunately the only result was a well trimmed terrarium.

                It was the leaf and she deff took a few bits off the leaf

                  So the vet checked with the animal poison website and said that she should be fine, she also said that rabbits are generally resistant to most toxic plants. I am so happy to hear this and thank you for caring for us @Roberta!

                    Glad to hear. Just keep up the hay and water though to move it on through in the interim.
