Earlier today, Midas was sprinting around his cage. And it wasn’t just normal hops, it was full speed running. He would run through his Hidey house, into his litter box, and around his cage. (Midas is 10 week old male holland lop.) I was wondering if this was a Bunny 500? Is this normal behavior? What does it mean?

Sounds like a bunny 500 to me. He mapping out his “evasive bunny” route too!

Ok, thanks it’s amusing to watch, I was just worried he might’ve thought he was in danger or something?? I don’t know, haha, paranoid first time bunny owner here.

A bunny that feels that he’s in danger has a “look” about him and may thump. Moshi is a lop, and when he’s startled, he holds his ears much more forward, races away from the direction of whatever startled him and will run inside his tunnel. During bunny 500’s, he’ll run laps and when he stops, he’ll either look like he’s making sure someone saw how fast he was going, throw in a binky, or flop.

So cute, Midas tends just to flop, but sometimes (if I’m lucky) he will binky.

I’ve had Kieko for a year now and the M&Ms for 11 months, and I still get excited about binkies so I’m either in love with my bunnies or totally pathetic!

Either way works :p Binkies are totally adorable to watch, and they make you feel special, so it makes sense.
