Hi. I am really nervous, but when I went to put my 8 week old bunny (New Zealand) into her cage, there was. ATON on white pus coming from her ear. It was coming from the *top* on her ear. This is a kinda deep hole. There is a scab on her other ear, so I don’t know if there was a scab on this ear and it came off or what. What do you think it is? Should I wipe the hole with the pus out with a Q-Tip or put neospore on it? I’m super worried and I hope my bunny will me ok. Thank you so much!

I don’t know what happened, but I would take your rabbit to the vet right now.

You say there is a scab on the other side as well? With it being a deep hole, I’m wondering if an animal got hold of him/her. Definitely needs antibiotics at the minimum. I wouldn’t put neosporin on it, as you shouldn’t put it on puncture wounds. (heals the surface but not inside). I would clean it up as much as you can, but get to the vet asap.

Yes, it’s hard knowing what it is just from the picture. It could be an abscess resulting from a bite wound or a number of other things. Definitely clean it up as best you can, but you’re going to need a vet to treat it properly. It will probably require antibiotics.
