Because of some issues with my move (new place Oct 1), I’ve had to leave my bun Ziggy with my mother until then.  I honestly didn’t realize how much I’d miss  him or how upset I would feel.  He’s probably all scared and doesn’t understand what’s happening.

I’m worried he’ll forget about me in this time.  I can only visit once a week.  Is that enough?  Any tips on making him more comfy at his temp home, but not too comfortable that he forgets about me?!

        I miss him.

I know you miss him! and Ziggy won’t forget you rayray – your his mum! But he may be cranky at you, ha ha ha. But once you have moved and is back with you, he will forgive you (with all that carpet!). Sorry, I shouldn’t joke – I know how much you miss him cause he is your world! But for as much as he will be missing you too, I know your mum will be treating him like her own. You’ve left him in the bestest of care and she loves him just as much as you. My only suggestion is (and I bet your mum is already doing this) is to let him do and treat him like you did in your home. If his routine and what he is allowed to do and NOT (lol!) allowed to do is the same, he should adjust to his new surroundings while he is on ‘holiday’ with your mum.
And remember, a lot of bunnies take holidays (owners have to go away for whatever reason) and it may take a few days, but they always re-adjust and are happy to back home with mum (home is where mum is!).
I know how sad you are rayray and that your missing Ziggy like crazy, but take comfort that your so lucky to be able to leave him with your mum. I couldn’t leave Henry with anyone – I don’t know anyone who would tolerate him? (ha ha ha – did I make you smile/laugh???) Lol!
October isn’t that far away. And if your having a real bad downer….. just think of him peeing on your bed! That will stop you missing him, ha ha ha! (it would work for me!) lol!
Oh, and don’t think of Ziggy being scared – he lives with your SNAKE!!! Good grief! Lol – only joking!
Take care rayray, and Ziggy IS fine! Sending you a Henry ‘hug’ to get you through till you see Ziggy next.

Thanks, Andi! I didn’t want to turn my mum’s place upsidedown with bunny proofing (she’s in a studio apt) so I put an x-pen in front of his cage so he has a “yard” so to speak. She says he won’t come out of the cage still (nerves I guess). So she put a sheet over the cage to make him feel safe. Only he started banging his toys against the cage!! Haha!! I guess that was too much privacy.
And I’m totally expecting the bunny snub when he comes back to live with me.

And ps Roscoe (the snake) is gone. Taking care of (aka cleaning up after) Ziggy was too much for me. So I found a wonderful friend to place him with.
